For the frosting:

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Stir in the toffee bits.

Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the toffee pieces over the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
