  • 1/4 cup of candied cherries
  • 1/4 cup of candied pineapple

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the baking powder, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Fold in the currants, raisins, walnuts, almonds, pecans, cherries, and pineapple.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
